Adios America! ... ¡Hola America!

It’s hard to believe, but today’s the day.

Leaving on a jet plane

John, the Holy Cross Associates director, is taking us to Chicago O’Hare at 5:00am. From there, we’ll fly to Miami, Fla. Next stop, Aeropuerto Internacional El Dorado in Bogota, Colombia. Finally, we arrive in Santiago at Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport (that’s a mouthful, huh?) at 4:00am tomorrow. Now that’s travel.

If you look at a map of our trip, you’ll see that we’re traveling about 5500 miles. It’s going to take about 23 hours to make the entire trip. That means that we will average over 200 MPH, including layovers.

We’ve already heard from Tom, Meg, and Krissy, the current associates living in Santiago. They’re meeting us at the airport Wednesday morning, which is great because (1) we don’t know where we’re going once we get to Chile and, (2) we’re not going to be in good shape to speak Spanish when we arrive.

Let the adventure begin….
